Synopsis

eircom is Ireland’s largest communications company and provider of a range of voice, data and multimedia services, with the principal business being the supply of domestic and international fixed line voice and data communications services. During 2000, eircom sold its mobile subsidiary Eircell to Vodafone for €4.5 billion, and in late 2001, the remaining company was acquired by the Valentia consortium, and was subsequently delisted.
