Synopsis
TelecomAsia is one of the largest telecommunications services providers in Thailand. Operating in the Bangkok Metropolitan Area it provides fixed line voice and data, public telephones, wireless PCT, dial-up and broadband Internet access, cable TV and multimedia content. In 2002 it entered the cellular market with a new GSM1800 network called TA Orange. The company is listed on the Thailand Stock Exchange with controlling shareholders, CP Group, a large Thai conglomerate, and Verizon Communications, a US communications company. Like all private sector operators, the company operates under concessions from, and competes with, the incumbent government owned telcos.Related Reports
