SingTel also has substantial foreign investments. The largest investment is Australia’s number two carrier, Optus. Other major investments include a share in Indonesia’s Telkomsel, Thailand’s Advanced Info Service, India’s Bharti Telecom and Philippines’ Globe Telecom, all leaders in mobile services in their respective countries. With its home base in the small and saturated market of Singapore, the bulk of SingTel’s revenue is now generated by overseas subsidiaries.
