Synopsis

KPNQwest was the leading pan-European data communications and hosting company, delivering carrier and corporate networking solutions as well as hosting, multimedia and Internet services to European businesses via its wholly owned fibre optic network, the EuroRings. The company collapsed in May 2002 following the decision of its owners to stop funding the operation due to their own cash flow problems. An analysis of the problems encountered by the company, and the actions by its owners is given by Paul Budde.
