Denmark has one of the highest adoption rates for broadband and digital media services in Europe. Cable TV companies, which access about two-thirds of Danish homes, have supplemented traditional pay TV and broadband packages with VoIP, VoD and mobile services. Analogue switch-off was affected in late 2009, allowing for 800GHz spectrum to be allocated for mobile broadband and other services. Additional digital dividend spectrum in the 700MHz band is expected to made available for mobile broadband use, while spectrum in the 1800MHz band formerly used for GSM services was reassigned for LTE and auctioned in mid-2016. This report presents a comprehensive overview of the major service providers in Denmark, detailing the latest market statistics and noting the status of digital TV via terrestrial, cable and satellite platforms.
Stofa buys cable interests of Canal Digital; government plans for 30Mb/s uploads by 2020; Ratos sells holdings in Stofa to Syd Energi; VoIP accounting for 41% of all fixed telephony subscriptions; report update includes the regulator’s market data for 2015, telcos’ operating and financial data to Q3 2016, recent market developments.

As you know, I have resigned from the Labor Ministry and have decided not to re-contest the seat of Charlton at the next election – both for personal reasons.
Before leaving Parliament, I particularly wish to record my thanks to you for your generous and constructive participation in the deliberations that generated significant economic policy reforms for the Australian community. Continuous economic transformation is a key challenge that faces all Governments.
The development of sound public policy should always be contestable. Ultimately, good and equitable outcomes are not concessions to any particular interest group, but the careful balancing of interests to create the greatest possible benefit for the nation. You have contributed to that, and I sincerely thank you for it.
