Synopsis

Archived report: this report was archived in June 2004 and has not been updated since. Bouygues Telecom is a French telecommunications company with a national mobile network. It also operates a fixed network, through an interest in 9Telecom, but this interest has been reduced from 51% to 6%. However, most of its activities relate to mobiles. It was granted an operating licence in 1995, and commenced operations in May 1996. It has a GSM1800 mobile licence in France and offers voice and data services, including WAP, GPRS and i-mode services. Bouygues Telecom is 83% owned by the Bouygues Group.
