Synopsis

A public company listed on three Indian stock exchanges, Bharti Tele-Ventures Ltd is controlled by the Bharti group. The company is India’s largest non-government telecom company and the largest provider of GSM mobile services. It also provides fixed-line local access, national and international long-distance telephony, VSAT, Internet services and corporate data network solutions. In the first quarter 2004, the company acquired licences to expand its GSM services from 15 to all of the 23 telecom circles in India. The company owns a 23,000km national fibre optic backbone and substantial international bandwidth.
