Report Status: Archived

Report Pages: 15

Analyst: Paul Budde

Synopsis

Thanks to its near monopoly, Telstra is among the most strongly performing telcos in the world. It has been attempting to use surplus funds to invest overseas, as well as in Australian media companies, but this has proved to be spectacularly unsuccessful. Telstra decided to focus more on its core business. Although its operating results show increased bottom line revenues, Telstra is unlikely to see continued strong growth and will need to re-address its overall strategy in order to more effectively compete in a converging market.
