Synopsis

During the past decade, Telstra had made many investments in the Asia Pacific region, with uncertain results. These investments include the multi-billion deal with Hong Kong’s Internet company, Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW), a deal with China Unicom, infrastructure commitments in Laos and Cambodia for the construction of earth stations for satellite communications, extensive activities in Vietnam and New Zealand, and smaller investments in Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
