Synopsis

This report was archived in May 2007. Neighbourhood Cable delivers a combination of pay TV, broadband data/Internet and VoIP telephony services over HFC cable networks that it has built in Mildura, Ballarat and Geelong in regional Victoria. It has positioned itself as a company able to deliver competitively priced telecom services to regional Australians and its customers include residential, business, government and educational institutions. In 2005 TVG Neighbourhood Cable Holdings acquired all of the remaining shares of Neighbourhood Cable and the company ceased to be publicly listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. In 2006 the company introduced a new range cable broadband plans offering increased download limits and speeds. In January 2008 TransACT Communications acquired Victorian telco Neighbourhood Cable.
