Synopsis

This report was archived in October 2009 and has not been updated. Commander started as a reseller of business telephone systems but, through a series of partnerships and acquisitions, it expanded to provide complete solutions spanning office and mobile telephony, IT hardware and software, Internet and network access, software licensing solutions, infrastructure and software solutions, managed services and strategic consulting services. In 2006, the Volante Group was acquired by Commander allowing it to offer end-to-end managed services. However, these grandiose expansion schemes were financially catastrophic and, despite frantic cost cutting and divestitures, the company went into liquidation in August 2008. The liquidators were finally able to unload most of the resulting assets to M2 in June 2009. This report shows the history of the company up until its demise, a type of electronic panegyric.
