Synopsis

BushTel Australia is an unlisted public company registered in Perth Australia. The company operates out of Broome WA. The company owns broadband wireless local loop licences, and plans to build local access networks, in Alice Springs, Broome, Darwin, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Karratha, Katherine, Kununurra and Port Hedland. The networks will connect to each other and to the Internet via the Comindico national IP network. The networks will provide voice-telephony, broadband Internet access and video/datacasting services to regional customers, by-passing the Telstra networks. The company plans to wholesale its services to local ISPs. A test was conducted in Broome in September 2002.
