Synopsis

Revenue growth for 2000 is estimated at a high 13%, thanks to dramatic increase in mobile and data markets. Next year, after the catch-up effect, we predict growth to slow to a still high 9.7%. Telstra’s retail market share is dropping below 40% in the data and long-distance voice markets. In the contestable market at the wholesale level, the company’s market share has dropped below 50%.
