Synopsis

The company went into administration on May 2004. Alpha Telecom provides discounted prepaid and postpaid telecom services in Australia. It was established in 2002 as a joint venture between UK company Alpha telecom and Simon Mouat, one of the UK company’s founders. In January 2003, the remainder of the Australian business was bought by Australian partner and the business is now wholly owned by local investors. By mid 2003, sales were mainly in the prepaid market with the post billed services & pay as you go services expected to contribute in the following year.
