Synopsis

This report has been archived and has not been updated. The Wholesale Industry Group was formed in April 2006, after the Minister’s announcement to fund a regional wholesale infrastructure network. The group represents the wholesale infrastructure industry in Australia. Members are those who do have their own infrastructure, others such as vendors and regional organisations are welcome as affiliate members. The Group has accepted a Charter under which it will operate, the key element of this is that they all subscribe to an open network, this is formulated in a set op wholesale access principles. The report describes the various issues and projects that WIG covers and the future options for industry cooperation. It also describes some of the early consortia that were formed.
