Synopsis

We are starting to see an ever so cautious recover. Some companies are beginning to recover from the telco crisis and there is a far more optimistic feeling in the market. There is a mixture of regulatory ness. Against ACCC recommendations divest Telstra’s share in Foxtel. However, ACCC recommendations re better access prices are a step forward. There is still a very serious backlog in broadband penetration – for which he could use the BAG Report. He will also have to respond to the Estens Report, which calls for some major government funding in infrastructure and/or a new direction for facilities-based competition by encouraging states, local councils and the utilities to supply an alternative.
