This report traces the value-added premium rate voice service (1900 numbers, etc) from its inception as a voice service through to the more recent use by interactive marketing bureaus of both PRS and SMS. The market has matured and it has found its niche in services which attract significant revenues that are shared in favour of the content providers. The major players are covered – including Belong, IDS, Telads, M.Net and Salmat. A revenue overview is also provided; regulatory issues have enormous influence on the directions taken by the market. Telstra’s backed M.Net has entered the market and already has created a significant impact, especially in the media segment of the market.
