Synopsis

This report was archived in September 2007 and has not been updated. It provides revenue and market share tables for the telecommunications market between 2000 and 2006, as well as our market estimates for 2007 and 2008. The total telecoms service market is segmented according to major provider (Telstra, Optus and other providers), as well as service (local access, mobile and data). Detailed revenue tables are also included separately for Telstra and Optus. The revenues contained in this report are based on the retail value of the network operators; the service providers (resale and MVNO) are included at wholesale value to avoid double counting. There are separate reports detailing the retail value of the services providers markets. For more recent information on this topic, see separate report: Australia – 2nd-tier Telcos - Revenues, Forecasts & Market Shares – 2000 – 2009.
