Synopsis

The total concept of public data and value-added-service is on the way out. Within a very short period of time, virtually the total telecommunications network will, from a traditional network point of view, be a ‘public data’ network. The network will thus become a content delivery network, on which voice will also be one application. This report brings together research and statistics on the public and value-added data services markets, taking note of the convergence of services since the late 1990s.
