Synopsis

In the year to March 31 Vodafone gained 418,000 new customers, representing more than 27% of the net additions. With post-paid or contract customers Optus had the best news in mid-2003, reporting an 8% increase in ARPU. For the last quarter Optus stated that mobile data represented 14% of service revenues. All of the carriers are looking to mobile data to increase ARPU over the next few years.
