Report Status: Archived

Report Pages: 7

Analyst: Paul Budde

Synopsis

From observation of the poor performance and failures of recent entrants to the infrastructure installation market, it is obvious that the present methods of funding and control for this type of activity are totally inadequate. For such an essential segment of telecommunications to survive and meet its objectives, governments will have to take a much stronger role in planning and controlling the rollout of infrastructure in every country. Particular reference is made to Australia’s Telstra, and how it could be made more effective as the major provider of infrastructure in Australia.
