Synopsis

The first consequence of the convergence of telecoms, media and IT has been the emergence of the new digital media. This gives rise to new opportunities for existing and new content providers. It enables them to develop new ‘electronic’ content services; it allows these companies to explore new distribution models for their content, or the repackaging of content to cater for new niche markets; and, lastly, digital media makes it possible for them to enter new ‘electronic’ markets, since in most cases traditional geographical borders do not apply to digital media markets. This report provides an overview of the other digital media reports that cover content markets.
