This report analyses broadband developments in Australia in 2005. In that year the market more than doubled to just under 3 million users. Telstra launched a very aggressive campaign with an introduction price of $19.95. There are ongoing regulatory battles in relation to access to Telstra’s network thorough LLU and line sharing. The government has made some good commitments towards high speed broadband including in regional areas, but the policies remain nebulous.
