Synopsis

This report has been archived and has not been updated, it contains developments up to 2006. In August 2005 the Australian government launched the Connect Australia initiative. In order to maximise the benefit of the subsidies that the government has set aside for telecommunications infrastructure in Australia we had argued that it was critical that the funds (Connect Australia and the future Rural Fund) be used strategically.
