Once a popular and effective mobile communication service in the 1980s-90s, paging has since fallen by the wayside in many Asian countries as mobile phones and associated services have risen to prominence. This report provides an overview of the declining paging markets in Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam with paging subscriber statistics up to 2001 or early 2002.
