American Samoa has one of the most complete and modern telecommunications systems in the South Pacific Islands. All inhabited islands have telephone connectivity. In 2005, mobile service provider Blue Sky Communications launched a new division called BlueLink Broadband, which provides high-speed Internet access for both residential and business users. In late 2006, a VoIP service was available. By 2008, both Blue Sky Communications and ASTCA had a WiFi wireless broadband service in operation. Up-to-date statistics for fixed-line voice services are currently not available in this report. Please also note that this report is updated infrequently due to limited availability of information on the local telecoms market.
