With limited results, the challenges for the future are to create effective competition in a market dominated by IT rather than telecoms. One of the key drivers of change behind the changes that have effected the incumbents has been privatisation. However, there needs to be a balance between shareholders issues and the business issue. Ultimately the value lies in running a successful business. The realty of the early 00s will result in massive industry changes between 2003 and 2005.
