The critical importance of the internet and its infrastructure is increasing and cybercrime is on the rise. These factors combined with the fact that the internet “knows no borders” is making many people, businesses and governments very nervous about its governance.
Issues in relation to the security of the various aspects of the digital economy include:
· Security of Internet infrastructure;
· Security and privacy of the services delivered over it;
· Governance of the Internet;
· Prevention and prosecution of crime and fraud;
· National, regional and international arrangements in relation to the above;
· Child protection.
