Service Des Postes et T Télécommunications (SPT) provides all telecommunications and postal services for the islands. SPT is partnered by France Telecom’s France Cable & Radio (FCR). Wallis Island received a satellite telephone link in 1989 and has been connected to the Internet since 1998. Australia television broadcasts are available via satellite transmission. In December 2004 SPT launched a new fixed switching centre in Futuna, which enables SPT to be able to provide all the people of Futuna with a fixed telephony service. Please note this report is updated very infrequently and that very few statistics are available due to limited availability of information on the local telecoms market.
