The calling card industry is entering new markets again. It is establishing itself more and more like a retail model rather than a telecommunications service. New developments in rechargeable cards are making it a more attractive brand product and with new services such as gift cards the industry is moving into new territories. Also 2006 and 2007 were years of consolidation and gotalk has further established itself as the market leader, together with Tele-Pacific and World Telecom they dominate the market. New services such as VoIP have provided new initiatives aw well and this development has not resulted in a major threat. The market is set for steady growth.
