Synopsis
A few years ago I followed in the footsteps of some of the early telecommunications pioneers. Arriving in Darwin, I first went on a ‘pilgrimage’ to the exact spot where the first undersea cable left Australia linking our country with the rest of the world. This report follows the development of the Overland Telegraph in the 1870s, through the wireless revolution in the 1900s with radio frequency spectrum exploited for the first time in the form of radio and television, right up to digitalisation at the turn of the 21st Century.Related Reports
