iiNet Limited

Synopsis

iiNet Limited was established in 1993 and has grown from a small Perth business into the second-largest DSL Provider in Australia in late 2010. iiNet has its own high-speed ADSL2+ network covering millions of households across Australia, and also has the largest VoIP network in the country.

The company delivers communications services across Australia that include:

  • Voice and internet services;
  • High-speed broadband data;
  • Business
  • Wireless broadband;
  • Naked DSL, VoIP;
  • Fibre-to-the-Home.

The company provides innovative services to its residential customers including FetchTV (IPTV), BoB – a wireless modem, phone and USB charging station – while business customers are able to use multiline VoIP, hosting, SHDSL and hardware options. iiNet has been buying up smaller ISPs over the last few years as it prepares to become one of the first retail service providers in the NBN Co trials in Armidale in 2011. The acquisition path has continued into late 2011 as the company acquired ACT based telco TransAct and ISP Internode in a deal providing the company with a large subscriber database.
