Synopsis
Wind is an Italian telecommunications company that provides mobile, fixed and Internet services through a common network. It is owned by Telecom France and ENEL, and recently absorbed the activities of Infostada. It was the first Italian company to offer total convergence between fixed telephone and the Internet. It also offers WAP services and sells telephone handsets. In October 2000, Wind was awarded one of five Italian UMTS licences. Research on this company was discontinued in 2003.
