Virtual Reality (Research discontinued in 2001)

Synopsis

VR will slowly but steadily revolutionise our experience of electronic information. Virtual reality is a way of enabling information users to participate directly in real-time three dimensional environments generated by computers. In a sense, virtual reality solves the human-computer interface problem by removing the interface. The VR concept was born in the military during the 1980s.
