Synopsis

Virgin is a UK private company with businesses across a wide range of sectors including music, travel, finance, transport, soft drinks, wines, publishing and telecommunications. Its telecommunication ventures are Virgin Mobile and Virgin.net. Virgin Mobile is wholly owned subsidiary of the Virgin Group, but with plans to float in 2004, and is the UK’s first MVNO, with more than four million subscribers, and has commenced operations in Australia, USA and Canada, with plans to launch in continental Europe. Virgin.net is an Internet portal and ISP.
