Synopsis

Applications for HomePlug technologies include home and business control of lighting, appliances, climate and security as well as home networking. HomePlug also assists in Demand Side Management (DSM) and utilities and access providers around the world are focusing on HomePlug in BPL applications for electric grid management, automatic meter reading applications, Command and Control and broadband to the home. This growing interest in BPL and Command and Control applications continues to be a driving force behind the HomePlug Alliance. This report includes information on HomePlug and Demand Side Management. Developments are also known as Utilities Broadband or Broadband Utilities.
