Australia is in a unique position to benefit from two infrastructure projects that are developed simultaneous, the NBN and the Smart Grid Smart City Project. The government also has a clear policy known as ‘ Digital Productivity’ whereby the government t is taking a leadership role in ensuring that other government sectors are going to use this infrastructure. Smart Grid Australia and NBN Co are working together on investigating synergies and in a preliminary report, a possible $2 billion saving has been mentioned.
