Tuvalu - Telecoms Market Overview & Statistics

Synopsis

Tuvalu Telecommunications Corporation (TCC) is the sole provider of telecommunications services to the islands. These services are mainly satellite-based between atolls and with the rest of the world. Future development plans include the installation of a cellular system in Funafuti and the upgrade of communications on the outer-islands. In 2007, TTC was looking at setting up its own ISP, while establishing a national Internet exchange between the two ISPs so as to keep local traffic. Up-to-date statistics are currently not available in this report. Please also note that this report is updated very infrequently due to limited availability of information on the local telecoms market.
