Turkey - Mobile Market - Overview, Statistics and Forecasts

Synopsis

Turkey’s mobile market is one of the largest in the region due to its sizeable population. Three mobile network operators share the market and competition is fierce although Turkcell has a dominant position. Foreign players Vodafone and TeliaSonera hold significant ownership stakes in mobile operators, attracted by the market’s growth potential. All three mobile network operators have launched 3G/HSPA networks and are being used to underpin take up of mobile broadband services as well as development of the mobile content and applications market.
