Synopsis
Sensis is now part of Telstra Corporation’s digital media division and is an advertising information resource. Since its inception in 1991 the company’s core business has been advertising through its White and Yellow Pages print directories, which were distributed to 97% of Australian metropolitan households. Numbers of printed directories will again be reduced in 2012, not from an opt-in system of demand, but from a print rationalisation of multiple types in capital cities to a single regionalised version.
Now that Sensis is moving from print to digital, print distribution is lowering and online access is growing with more than one million people using a Sensis product daily. As a result of the strategy change, the digital based revenue is slowly increasing but not as much as the print based division is dropping.
Other divisions that are included in the Sensis portfolio:
- sensis.com.au;
- Sensis 1234;
- Sensis Mobile;
- CitySearch, an online city guide; and
- Whereis products and services which deliver location and navigation services.
