Synopsis

In this report we discuss CDMA2000, 1x EV-DO and Qualcomm’s proposed, but now abandoned, 4G Ultra Mobile Broadband (UMB). We also discuss operating systems and the WAP and Java environments for mobile devices. We discuss the 3GPP’s IP Multimedia Subsystem, an overarching framework for telco-based services including VoIP and Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC).
