Technology - IPv6 4 - Address Selection & Mobility

Synopsis

We discuss how an IPv6 node chooses between its multiple IPv6 and IPv4 addresses. We discuss the elaborate protocols which provide special mobility capabilities for IPv6, including the ability to continue a session with the same IP address when the device switches its physical connection to another network. We also discuss IPv6’s Maximum Transmission Unit arrangements, concerning the length limit for packets sent on a particular route.
