Technology - IP Routing & Addressing Crisis 5 - LISP - Locator-ID-Separation

Synopsis

We discuss and compare three proposals for a new routing and addressing architecture to provide multihoming, traffic engineering and portability for end-user networks without directly involving the BGP routing system: LISP-NERD, LISP-CONS and LISP-ALT. The Locator Identifier Separation Protocol is the best known of the ITR-ETR proposals, also known as ‘map and encapsulate’ systems.
