Spain - Mobile Market - Overview, Statistics & Forecasts

Synopsis

Spain has one of the largest mobile markets in Europe, supported by a large population ready to accept new technologies. Competition between the four network operators has driven down the cost of calls by more than a quarter since 2005. About a dozen MVNOs have been launched, further intensifying price competition. The 3G market has also seen great changes, including the launch of services from Yoigo and the release of 900MHz frequencies for 3G services. This report provides statistics and research on the Spanish mobile market in 2010, including an assessment of regulatory issues, a profile of the major providers, and an analysis of mobile data services such as SMS, MMS, i-mode, HSDPA and mobile TV. Selected market mobile forecasts through until 2015 are analysed.
