However, Spaniards have not embraced the Internet with the same enthusiasm as they have the mobile phone, and Internet penetration has been below the EU average. This report presents a historical snapshot of the Spanish data and Internet market in 2004, with statistics on a range of segments, and notes Telefonica’s dominance and some reasons for the low Internet uptake. The incumbent is also shown to dominate the data market.
