Synopsis
Slovakia’s mobile market, serviced by three mobile network operators having pan-European reach, has relatively high penetration levels resulting from multiple SIM card ownership. The introduction of mobile number portability has increased competition between players which have focused on improving ARPU levels by encouraging existing prepaid users to migrate to postpaid plans, as well as by offering mobile broadband access and content services. These are becoming increasingly popular among consumers in the wake of deployments of 3G/HSPA and LTE networks.
