Listed on the Australian Stock Exchange, PBL’s core businesses are television production and broadcasting; magazine publishing and distribution; gaming and entertainment, and digital media. It owns and operates the Nine Network, Australia’s highest rating free-to-air television network; Australian Consolidated Press, Australia’s largest magazine publisher and the Crown Casino complex in Melbourne. PBL enterprises has investments in pay TV, that includes Foxtel, The Premier Media Group and Sky News Australia as well as online ventures ticketek, NineMSN and Seek. In October 2006, PBL confirmed that it would hive off the majority of its media assets into a new company, equally owned by itself and CVC Asia Pacific.
