Synopsis
Portugal has seen considerable development in the converged services market. Bundled services are available from Portugal Telecom, Sonaecom and the main cableco ZON Multimédia, sold by Portugal Telecom in late 2007. A second satellite service was launched in 2007 while Portugal Telecom also launched a competing service in 2008 to complement its IPTV service. The digital TV platform was completed in April 2012 with all analogue broadcasting coming to an end. A licence for pay TV and free-to-air services was awarded to Portugal Telecom in 2008.
