New Zealand - After functional separation

Synopsis

The BuddeComm Roundtables in New Zealand in December 2007 were an enormously refreshing experience. New Zealand has decided to make structural changes and it is developing an excellent digital strategy for the future. We could sense the buzz at the Roundtables, with people eagerly exploring what the new situation will mean for them. Telecom NZ is leading the charge but the rest of the industry now needs to fall in behind the incumbent. The price of broadband, however, remains a serious problem and mobile competition might have to wait until 2010. New Zealand is now leading change in the Asia Pacific region.
