Synopsis

This snapshot report presents the most recent developments in Macedonia. It is compiled from the far more extensive Country Report: Macedonia - Telecoms, Mobile, Broadband and Forecasts. Competition is finally taking off in the fixed telecoms market. Mobile market competition has strengthened following the arrival of a third operator as evident by its increasing market share. Mobile broadband is a new growth market and presents a credible alternative to fixed broadband due to growing data allowances. Fixed broadband is receiving a lot of attention, especially with the government focus on the social and economic benefits that this infrastructure has to offer. Better regulations are also providing a more rapid increase in the number of subscribers by facilitating competition.
